Ethical Marketing ( Everlane ).

Clothing manufacturing is among the most controversial industries in the world. During the past 20 years or so, much greater attention has been paid to how and where our clothes are made, particularly in light of tragedies such as the blaze that tore through a garment manufacturing facility in Bangladesh in 2012, killing 117 people – a factory that supplied clothing to American retailers including Walmart and Sears.

In light of greater awareness about the use of sweatshops, demand for ethically made clothing has soared in recent years, a trend that has given rise to dozens of companies that want to change how we make and view clothing, including Everlane.
Founded in 2010 by Michael Preysman, Everlane is boldly committed to ethical manufacturing. All of Everlane’s garments are made in factories that meet the most stringent quality standards – not only in terms of the clothes themselves, but also in how workers are treated. Everlane only partners with manufacturers that demonstrate a strong commitment to their workers’ welfare, a fact the company prides itself upon in its marketing material.

How Does Everlane Use Ethical Marketing?

Like other ethical brands, Everlane’s About page tells its brand story, including how the company champions the rights and well-being of the workers who make its clothes. What’s really interesting about Everlane, though, is its commitment to radical transparency.

Everlane isn’t content to merely tell you that its clothes are manufactured and sold ethically; the company also provides customers with a detailed cost breakdown for each and every one of its stylish, minimalist garments. This includes details on the cost of materials, labor, transportation and logistics, excise taxes and duties, and even hardware such as zippers and buttons.
The company’s Elements jacket, for example, costs $60 to produce, and you can see exactly how much each of the manufacturing and logistical elements affects the retail price:

Typically, the production costs of most commercially produced clothing are a closely guarded secret. This isn’t merely because a breakdown of such costs would reveal a brand’s potential profit margin on a specific item, but also because they highlight the desperately poor pay and conditions many people working in garment manufacturing endure.
By boldly revealing precisely how much each of its garments costs to make, Everlane can offer its customers the kind of transparency consumers want while enjoying the considerable karma this kind of radical transparency offers.

Convo.. between Dad and Son !!

Son :- Dad , I have completed my matriculation and i want to take biology ahead so that further i can prepare for medical colleges.

Dad :- (After seeing his financial criteria and a daughter) Son why not maths there is a lot of scope in maths you can choose any profession if you choose maths .

And on the admission day he refused to sign for the biology by showing his parental power.

Later onwards , the boy has to go to engineering college for his further studies by sacrificing his interest .  One day his friends were doing party and invited him but his father denied by saying  "There is lots of accidents happening in the city" so no need to go there . This over protective nature of his father hurts him , he feels that our country got freedom why not I .

Somehow he was not having any interest in doing engineering so he started showing disinterest in it and convinced his maternal uncle to convince his father for the change of his course , then his father registered his name in the city college with BA stream , again against his interest and desire his father thought that BA is the simplest course so let him put there , but the environment  of the college was not so good , one can visualize how are the conditions of city colleges nowadays . His maternal uncle suggested his father about BBA and he got admission  in Mittal school of business for BBA but this course also do not suits him, he wanted to be a doctor since he is good in biology but now he changed his aim and wanted to do hotel management or animation because he is having interest in it,but the fear is that his dad will not allow him to do.

The thing is that his father over protective nature is now bothering him , he thinks that his father is not giving his rights , he is losing is own independence . He became frustrated with the situation and stopped talking with his father since last two days .

The fact here is , father is not allowing his son to choose a course of his own interest , this is ethically wrong , one have a full right to choose his own choice , And when he stop talking with his father shows that he is ethically right , let his father know that his son is facing problems with his decisions, everyone has their own rights.

What is Ethics !!

ETHICAL MODE

ETHICS:- It is by the way ,  what is Wrong and what is Right with respect to the situatios.

  });
</script>

Let`s have an overview with an example :-  A man was facing a lots of problem in his daily life , also his earning was so less that it was very hard for them to overcome one time food. One day he came up with his evil idea , which led him to walk on wrong path and started illegal works , robbing and stealing became his job now , one day he caught up by the cops and in the interrogation the cops came to know that he is a very innocent man but the situation made him to start walk on illegal ways .

Read Carefully:- In the above example one can clear his all doubts related to ETHICS,LAW AND MORAL

Ethical decision :- The man was not willing to do the illegal works , but the situation made him to do , so in order to survive in this world one have to earn as much that one can eat two times food , but here it has been described above that the man`s earning was not enough to eat two time food also , also in the above para it have been described in the second line the word them  which indicates that the man was not alone so it became neccessary for him to do the job . Here if one have to make decision about the act done by man was right or wrong ethically then ethics will say that the act was right and one should show him the right path ahead with the man`s point of view but with the cops point of view it is wrong so ethics is relative.

 Decision by Law:-  Since the man  has done an illegal act so the LAW here says that the person should be punished with relative crime rule .

Moral decision:-  It`s moral that doing a crime in a society is always a crime , what ever the conditions is , so he is wrong.
